Just because.....

I was in one of those "must go take pictures" kind of mood, so of course, naturally the weather wasn't being cooperative. RAIN RAIN go away already! But who said we couldn't have little fun in the rain? Called up my neighbor and she was up for a little mini fun session, and out the door we went.
I love listening to music while editing. Music really moves me, and it definitely can change my vision when I'm looking at a photo. Can you guess what kind of music I was listening to?

Red Balloon

This photo was taken a few months ago, and I've been meaning to blog about it for a while now and it just didn't happen until now. Oh...Oh...me... =D It was just another normal day, as I was taking a stroll in my neighborhood when I caught something "red" in my peripheral vision, and SNAP...SNAP away I went. This is just another reminder of why I love photography. How did this balloon go astray? Did it belong to a little child? Missing it's attendance at a Birthday party? Or did it have a specific use for someone's purpose? We will never know, but for me it simply brought back a poignant feeling from my childhood of birthday parties, carnivals, and even a movie, " The Red Balloon". Amazing how an accident, simplicity, and one photo can say something so huge. I love photography.

Tom Tom

Everyone I want you to meet the newest addition
to our family, "Tom Tom". I told myself once we got to this island, I would not adopt another pet. For I already have 3 furry children Stateside, who I miss dearly.
Being stationed here in Okinawa we wanted to take advantage of the traveling opportunities that is available to us, and having a pet would just make that more troublesome. Hmm?? Yeah well.... that didn't last long. =D
"Tom Tom" was one of our neighborhood strays. He approached us one day while I was having a family photo session with a friend of mine, and he just kept following us and the kids were being distracted by Tom Tom's charming ways. So, I had to bribe him into staying away for a bit, and apparently I had cat food stocked in my pantry. =) Up the stairs I went to fetch poor kitty some food and after that, it was love at first sight. WELCOME HOME TOM TOM!
